none of that stuff works…turn to weed bro ,it does wonders for people
Viagra- go have sex and it will make you feel good for an hour
Yes go to mcdonalds and ask for a Happy Meal it works for me.
Try going to an outpatient mental health facility the one you do not need insurance.
get a pescription for prozac. i know you dont have health insurance but get some and get prozac!! you need a therapist. believe me my brother is clinically depressed and prozac really helps (its also called flouxotine or something)
I take Zoloft (prescription) which really works for me, but I have also heard about St. John’s Wort being beneficial. Also, taking a multivitamin and fish oil might help. Exercise is really good, and for mild to moderate depression it can actually be just as good as prescription medication. My psychiatrist really stressed exercising as a part of my treatment. If you’re having trouble sleeping then try melatonin supplements, they aren’t habit forming like other sleep aids and they just give you more of what you already produce on your own. I found that they really, really helped me fall asleep much quicker and stay asleep.
Also, try talking to someone you trust about what you’re going through. Maybe start a journal about it to get your feelings down also. Go to the library and check out books about depression, a lot of them have some great coping strategies for dealing with what you’re going through.
Good luck!
I think the best thing you can do is take vitamins every day. Medication for depression causes horrible side effects anyway.
I would pair that with exercise and read a behavior modification book. These books are used mainly by professionals who are Cognitive Behavior Therapists, or psychologists. It has been proven that there is a high success rate based on results and maintenance of new behavior paired with some form of medication (like St John’s Wort). I would be a bit cautious of St John’s Wort as well, it produces some adverse health effects if you take a high amount of it or if you take it on a regular basis. Best of luck.
Try going to your local Natural Food Store, usually someone will talk to you (for free) about any vitamin deficiencies you may have. Someone like the owner or manager, they are usually more than happy to help you figure out whats wrong. I use to be depressed and I did that, it turned out I just needed some specific vitamins. Hope I was helpful, good luck.
My mother used to take St. Johns Wort and it did help some. It probably depends on how severe your depression is. She is bipolar and did eventually have to go on to prescription medication, though. Dark chocolate also helps. But if your depression is severe, see a doctor.
The mix of so many chemicals in peoples lives hampers normal physical and mental health . Detox the body . use pure foods and clean water . Get lots of exercise clean air and sun shine .
try the herbal supplement its called SAMe & another one is called IGnatia (not echinacia) . supposed to be pretty good.. st. johns wort i tried didn’t do much for me.
You’d be a lot happier NOT depending on it. It’s only short-term help. The lazy way out. Taking pills/ vitamins will adapt to your body, then your screwed again.
I say exercise. You have no money? Then go down to your local community college and ask for a bog fee waiver (all your classes will be free). You’ll get used to exercising (actually addicted). Exercising makes you happy, clears your mind, gives you energy, and makes you feel on top of the world! You also have to be around ppl and if you sign up for sports you makes friends and learn more communication/ team work skills. So you also make friends and learn how to be more outgoing. Ppl & exercise will get you out of your depression.
I sympathize with your plight. I have major depression and there have been times when I had no health insurance. In my own case, I found exercise to be one of the most potent antidepressants. Also, there are mental health clinics that offer psychotherapy at a sliding fee scale. Many hospitals also have these clinics for therapy. Also, you might find that they offer low-fee clinics for psychiatric medications.
St. John’s wort is considered helpful mainly for mild depression. Keep in mind that it can take 3 to 6 weeks before the herb begins to work. A lot of research suggests that omega-3 oils are useful for depression and bipolar disorder. Certain fish, especially salmon, are a good supply of omega 3. If you’re vegetarian, you can take omega 3 capsules, especially flax seed oil. If you google for omega 3, you can find foods that contain lots of omega 3. Omega 3 contains EPA and DHA. You should look for the highest level of EPA for treating depression.
You can go into most vitamin or health food stores and find a whole aisle devoted to mood enhancing supplements or antidepressants. Many of them come in combo formulas. If the sales clerk appears knowledgeable and honest, ask for his/her advice on some of the best products.
Amino acids that may help depression include phenylalanine, tyrosine, GABA and theanine. 5-HTP and tryptophan can also help with depression.
Some researchers recommend SAM-e, but I and others I know found it to be very expensive and ineffectual. I hope this gives you enough ideas to help.
