    Why are you depressed.

Try writin all your problems and fears on a peice of paper. And try combat them once at a time. Learn to trust yourself, your 23, you can do it.

Try Byron Katie. Her worksheets are on her website and her videos are on youtube.

Try reading Patrick Holford’s “Low GL diet” - blood sugar imbalances can cause havoc with your body and symptoms include depression, mood swings, tiredness, drowsiness after eating, cravings for sweet foods, headaches, heart palpitations, anxiety, irritability, agrressive outbursts, crying spells, excessive sweating, dizziness and trembling.
is a charity and it has a free questionnaire you can fill out in order to get feedback on what you might be lacking in your diet.

For example, if you are lacking in Vitamin B, You can suffer the following symptoms: Feeling unreal, Hearing your own thoughts, Anxiety and Inner tension, Inability to think straight, Suspicion of people, Good pain tolerance, seeing or hearing things abnormally, having delusions and frequent mood swings. Read Patrick Holford’s “Optimum Nutrition for the Mind”.
The book also has a section about insomnia.

Keep two journals. One for writing down all your feelings, this is really good for clearing out your anxieties and getting all your war onto paper, you can delete it straight after if you need to, it’s just good to really see your stressful thinking. And the other can be your gratitude journal - write down all the things you are grateful for that happened today.

Turmeric Powder, a spice, is very helpful. You have to take a spoonful of it like 2 times a day, in combination with half a spoon of ground black pepper. Turmeric inhibits MAO in the brain. MAO inhibitors, called MAOIs, are one of the strongest classes of antidepressants. The black pepper helps your brain to absorb the active ingredients in the Turmeric…if you don’t take the pepper, the Turmeric won’t work. Its also sometimes called “Super Curcumin with Bioperine” Bioperine is another word for black pepper. Another great OTC remedy i have found is DLPA, called DL phenylalanine. You probably will have to buy it online, but it works very well. It increases energy a whole lot, and decreases pain also. There is lots of research on it. Rhodiolia Rosea, a russian herb, has been helpful for me also. Also, some people find Kava Kava to be helpful. It is relaxing and has antidepressant qualities. St. Johns wort has never really worked for me, but some people it helps. 5-htp and L-tyrosine can help many people. But your best bet, i think, is the DLPA (1-2 grams a day), the Rhodiola Rosea (50-500 mg a day)……and the Turmeric with Black pepper/bioperine. all of these you can buy online at cheap prices. also consider the 5htp and l-tyrosine in combination with the others….. oh yeah and excercise works a TON for me. it helps alot…jogging 20-30 minutes a day, and eating high protein foods. another option is SAM-e, which assists the brain in making neurotransmitters. in some people, it is extremely effective. B vitamins, especially B3, B6, and B12, iron, and vitamin C are very important. you can try Fish oil capsules also. Ginkgo Biloba helps too by raising dopamine levels in the brain…..but its not very good by itslef.
