It’s a general misconception that depression can only affect teenagers and old people. Recently it has been found that even children are largely affected by this major chronic mental disorder of depression. It’s little hard to believe but it’s a fact that even babies can suffer of depression. We always have heard that children suffer of anxiety but the truth is they are also vulnerable to depression with the same probability as we all do.

As compared to grown up people, babies have to suffer a lot as they are unable to express their feelings or discomfort. It all depends on parents that how well they judge the problems of their baby. Symptoms of depression by baby are quite different than those of general symptoms. They may not be able to eat, sleep or play properly. Most of the time, hey keep on crying without any appropriate reason. Children of growing age will not feel comfortable with their friends or relatives; they may show anxiety and unusual behavior all the time. Children while being neglected or discouraged may develop major symptoms of depression that can even lead to some dangerous act.

Children with such symptoms should immediately be taken to psychologist. Parents have to understand that their child needs some extra care and affection while they are being suffering from such symptoms. A brief assessment of depression syndrome for your child would be done by depression inventory. Finally the child psychologist will decide what kind of treatment that child should be given. In some major cases, a child has to be sent to pediatrician so as to find out the exact cause behind depression. Most commonly found reason behind a child’s depression is the family environment. Chaos and disputes among parents is the chief cause of such symptoms in their child. Hence it’s prime duty of parents to understand psychological behavior of their child and behave accordingly.

The world, ‘depression’ simply reflects a state of mind where a person is very much depressed or disheartened. Now the face of this word has changed a lot, it has now turned up into a major mental disease which the whole world is suffering from. Whether it may be a child, a teenager, a young person or an old man, anyone can get affected of it. These days, children have to bear tremendous load of studies from school. Few children who are not yet ready for such pressure may develop depression out of it. Teenagers when struggling for their career can face depression and finally end up in pathetic health conditions. Working persons being overloaded of their office work can be caught by the clutch of depression. An old man being mistreated by his family person may fall to depression. Hence it is just an ongoing process without an end.

Doctors and psychiatrists are always working on different aspects of depression but still it has been a challenge for them. A detailed diagnosis has revealed certain results about the types of depression that can be seen among patients. Major depression is a type where patient almost behave like an insane person, talking rubbish and acting like crazy. Bipolar depression results in some sort of split personality where person can sometime behave normally and the other time may feel so discouraged and disheartened. Psychotic depression leads to some very unusual change in person’s behavior, change may even be dangerous to other. Manic depression leaves patient in a state of unconsciousness which he may not remember after regaining consciousness. Seasonal affective depression is not a permanent disorder, it may occur on certain specific circumstances or situation which that person may not bear and fall into a state of depression.

These days a major threat to the people of our society is a severe mental disease known as depression. Irrespective of age group, any person can be caught by the clutch of this critical disease. People suffering from depression experience a mental disorder which ultimately leads them to diminished interest in day to day life. Depression can either be caused by sudden trauma, people’s behavior around you, tragic incident in your family, sudden loss of your beloved or anything as such. Some people miss anticipate this symptom of depression from craziness, they should well know that a crazy people can’t feel anything but a person suffering from depression can feel everything just the same way as you do. The most common syndrome seen among depression patients are feeling of helpless and sadness. They cannot help but feel so hopeless about their life.

Few patients are always seen totally exhausted with no sign of enthusiasm. Sometimes depression leads to severe weight loss that can lead to major health diseases in long term. Lack of concentration, diminished interest in sex, anxiousness is also very prominent syndromes of depression.

During recent years, Depression has been found as one of the major chronic disease that most of the people in our society are suffering from. In this corporate world, more and more people are struggling from financial as well as emotional catastrophe. As a result they are getting more and more vulnerable to depression. Depression has always persisted in our society since ages, but earlier we were unaware of its behavior. Now we all are very well familiar of its deadly symptoms.

Depression can sometimes so adversely affect the ability of a person that he even hesitate waking up in the morning from his bed. Depression is a sort of mental disorder which starts from brain and leads to serious physical illness in long term.

Teenagers who are so much tensed due to their academic performance or their personal relationships are affected the most. According to a survey it has been found that one out of every five Americans is expected to suffer from depression. Depression is a chronic disease and can last for several years if not treated properly. Sometimes depression is also expressed as unwillingness to do any sort of work. Such patients become so disheartened and develop a sense of inability to do anything.
