How can you cure depression without medical assistance?

I can’t afford medical care, so I’ve been stuck with this depression for 19 months now. It’s getting really obnoxious, and it’s not fun. Are their any like, over the counter medications, or herbs or anything that can help? If you could leave religion out of this, that would be great. ^^
And also, I’m also very prone for stroke, and my heart is not the strongest, so please keep that in mind. I want to cure my depression, not die.

What over the counter med works best for depression, St. john’s Wort, Sam-e, or 5-HTP.I have taken Prozac?
