cure depression
encourager4God asked:

I beleive in using wisdom and taking medicine when you need it even if it is for mental reasons.

But what are good coping methods, and ways to overcome depression? Is there a cure? And if there is not a cure what is a good way to deal with this and still have a quality of life?

Depression is simply a symptom of fear and anxiety. Try to sort your thoughts out and find out what is really bothering you.

to overcome depression… basically just do what you don’t feel like doing. This could include exercising, eating worthwhile food, hanging out with friends, volunteer work, video games, listening to non-emo/metal music, or even getting up the first time you become concious in the morning. It’s the willpower that overcomes the state of mind.

it all depends on the type of depression. some can be cured from exercise and good diet. But others that are more severe can’t.
It’s so tough. I think really trying to have a positive attitude. Hope is key. Always having a goal and something to look forward to in life. Good friends even if only a few and family all help me. I do need medication and still have bad days. But it’s all in how I approach things. My attitude toward life in general that makes a huge different in my life. Find something you enjoy and do it on a regular basis. Take care of yourself. Treat yourself to something special once in awhile. Most importantly have fun.

Some patients use conventional meds & Dr’s

Others use meditation or holistic therapies.

    Some get wasted

    Do what works for you!

There is no cure since its not an illness. Depression is a a behavior. The behavior is suppression of your negative feelings which usually occurs due to the fear and inability to deal and face these negative feelings. Therefore people sometimes suppress it or squash it deep down. These feeling don’t just go away instead the have a life of their own and start creating anxiety in your body. The way to cope or overcome as you call it is to not allow it to be suppressed in the first place. When you come across a negative feeling such as anger, insecurity, fear, sadness, powerlessness or grief, all you need to do is watch it and accept the feeling for what it is. In the meantime you can go on with your life’s duties and ambitions. There are professional mental health counselors available for hire that can teach you how to live a quality life in the face of harsh feelings.
