Every teen does something along these lines every once in a while. Talk to someone or something to make yourself feel better. and no there isn’t anything over-the-counter for that.
There is nothing over the counter that can help you. You need to see a doctor and get some proper anti-depressants. You may also need therapy. Meds completely changed my life. I suffer with depression too.
Hugs! I would definitely talk with your family doctor. Meanwhile, walking..or running daily always helps your mind feel happy. It releases things in your brain that makes you feel happy. So stay plenty active and still talk to your doctor for a full effect recovery. Talking to someone professional can also help you feel less anxiety in social situations if that is a problem too.
There is really nothing over the counter that can help. You need to see a therapist to help you with your self esteem and evaluate you for antidepressive medication. There are mental health agencies that see you according to your income, so the care could be free. Don’t feel bad because you need help, Ive have been there. When I was in highschool I let my depression get so bad that I almost took a drug overdose. God knows what stopped me. You are not alone, I pray for you to get the right help and feel better soon. God bless.
Clinical depression is nothing to be ashamed of, and there are no great over-the-counter remedies. Most herbals that are available have questionable results, and some have been outright proven ineffective.
I suggest you talk to your family doctor about your symptoms. Most general practioners, family practitioners, and internists are qualified to treat symptoms of depression and refer you for counseling so you can work through your self-esteem issues. For example, adolescents often become depressed if they have severe acne, a problem with weight (overweight OR underweight) or they feel their appearance is very different from their peers. Your family doc can help with those kinds of things and get you into a therapist to help you handle the issues of adolescence in a more constructive way.
Try:
1) Vitamin B6/Pyridoxine 50 mg daily…increases 5HT levels
2) Tryptophan if its available OTC in your country
3) Folic acid 0.4mg….upregulate genes silenced epigenetically
4) Hypnotherapy CDs = A type of Cognitive Behavioural therapy: Coby Zeigler’s are about the best
5) Buy Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Dummies ( A book)
Also- burden a friend..and I mean burden them…thats what they’re there for. When you’re better you may help them back
Also- get out into the park and walk the socks off yourself…stops you thinking too much
Also- do something spiritual like Reiki/ Meditation or go to mass and pray.Religion is really good for us( minus the crusaders, the inquisitors and the paedophiles, that is)
Depression is more common than many people think. That’s because we’ve been trained as a society to view it as a negative attribute. It’s awful to live with, and I think you need to speak with a professional. Medication and therapy can really help you turn your life around.
Unfortunately there is nothing over the counter (OTC) that helps with depression. I had a hard time asking for help, but I am glad I did I feel much better. It was very hard to go to a psychiatrist for the first time. I just wish I had done it sooner.
i recommend meditation, I went thru a really hard time not to long ago but mind, body, spirit training helps, if you dont believe in tht kinda stuff then start finding things you like, be it painting music or any little hobby, and please talk to someone before this gets out of hand, i had gone thru suicidal thoughts after a while, so this can get very seriuos
First, above all you should speak to an adult who has some kind of experience in dealing with Teen Depression. I went through a horrible time for about two years from the agesof about 14 years to 16.
Three times a week after school I would walk to my shrinks office. I got real lucky and he was great. However, I did have to combine talk therapy with some pretty serious medications. Tofranil and xanax. But I got through it.
As far as over - the- counter, I don’t believe there is anything significant right now that would be approved for you. The most important thing is to make sure that you don’t take anything or too much of anything to cause you further difficulties or worse serious illness!
I have a fairly limited knowledge about Over-the-Counter drugs but I do know enought that you really, really need to be careful about combining over-the-counters with akk the prescription meds.
Be very careful please. I have a lot of hope for you for these reasons-1. You are reaching out when you are Depressed 2. You are wise enough to be concerned about the safety and the best course of treatment 3. You seem to truly want to kick this.
Am I right??
BEST WISHES!!!!! Let me know if you find anything out interesting about Over the counter stuff. One thing-I love Bluberry tea that has chmomile in it was well. It’s by Arizone I think.
