Try St John’s Wort - its also called hypericum. Its natural and effective, and has way less in the way of side effects compared to antidepressants. But check for contraindications - some other medicines should not be taken at the same time. Antidepressants are rotten little pills - all I got was a massive trip from them. And I don’t mean to Tahiti!
iF YOU ARE LOSING IT, YOU BEST SEE YOUR DOCTOR, DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY CAN BE A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM, PLEASE VISIT YOUR PERSONAL DR. OR GO TO THE URGENT CARE.
There are things like St. John’s Wort that many people say is helpful but there is no data proving this.
Visit your doctor and talk to him/her about what’s going on. Maybe he/she can prescribe some medication for you? There are good antidepressants that are available in generic form if cost is an issue.
I’m sorry to hear that you aren’t feeling well. If you have been feeling this way for two weeks or longer then you should consider seeing your family doctor to decide if you are clinically depressed and then go from there. I hope that you are feeling better soon.
Each person’s body chemistry is different. I have heard that Omega 3 oils as in fish, etc. can ease depression. I do notice that when I eat salmon or take fish oil capsules, I do experience a better mood.
My advice is that if OTC items do not work for you, then it is best to seek the advice of a professional. Major depression is difficult to treat without outside help.
I would like to add that often the family doctor is a good start, but if your depression persists, a psychiatrist is better trained to deal with depression.
I’ve taken 2 prescription antidepressants and they aint all that! The second one gave me a seizure!
Neither made me feel better for depression and anxiety.
I’m taking St Johns Wort and 5HTP with Valerian root at bed time. They seem to be working OK - subtle effect but not negative.
NO!!!!!!!………Go to the Dr. and talk to him or her and let them diagnose you and put you on the right meds. It takes a good 30 to 60 days for the meds to get in your system. If you think you are depressed don’t put off going to the Dr. it will only get worse and take longer to heal. God Bless You and Good Luck!
Hi
How do you know it is depression?
I suggest you don’t try drugs without expert opinion. Meanwhile you can try some alternate or herbal therapy that does not have any contra-indication.
There are some good dvds that can help you soothe yourself too.
You can look at allstressrelief.com
It’s a free resource site that has plenty of reviews for dvds and products that can possibly provide relief. Most of it is non-drug based and there are even some downloads that you can try for instant use.
Also look for reasons for your behaviour. Were you always like that? Did something in particular make you like this? Are you taking any other drugs for some other medication? Is it related to alcohol? Do some soul searching and you might be able to find the root problem.
Once the real problem is identified it will be much easier tackling it.
