counter depression
Stephanie asked:

I’ve been really depressed recently (going through a bad break-up) and a lot of nights just want something to make me feel relaxed or even just put me to sleep. Are there any over-the-counter products that would have a similar effect to prescription painkillers (I know it wouldn’t be as strong) that make you feel kind of numb, like you just don’t care about anything?

Try Kava Kava , And they make a product called Rescue Remidy .. its in a yellow box.. find it at your Health food store.. It keeps me from becoming too blue or red hot.. nice and easy ..
Alow yourself some veg time , take a nice hot shower.. Try adding Sea food to your diet , or get some iodine - which helps your hormones by feeding your thyroid.
    Good luck !

St. John’s wort maade me sleep better, AND it made me happy, maybe you could try that, if you aren’t on birth control pills or any kind of hormonal birth control because SJW makes it less effective. also, you COULD try Kava, it calmed me down quite a bit, but it has been linked to serious liver problems with excessive prolonged use. There’s also something called Valerian root you can take to calm you and put you to sleep but beware because it smells like vomit. Also there’s 5-HTP for anxiety and depression, but I have heard that stops working after a while. I was looking for something with the same effect as vicodin and have found nothing that close at all, but some of these things DO help. If you have more questions, you can e-mail or IM me if you want.

I agree with the Rescue Remedy or Calm Ease. Magnesium is suppose to be really good for anxiety and for the depression you may want to try St. John’s Wart. If you continue and still get no relief from these natural meds I do suggest visiting the doctor.

Maryanne P, you might want to try St; John’s Wort by Infinity2. I think it’s less expensive and the science behind the delivery process to the cells is amazing.

Contains a custom formulated Chelated Activated Enzyme Delivery System (CAeDSĀ®) ensuring the nutrients in this herbal supplement are absorbed and delivered to the cells of the body for guaranteed maximum effectiveness.

    Hope this helps.
